We Buy & Trade Train Collections!

We’re always excited to hear from fellow train enthusiasts! Whether you’re looking to sell a collection or explore a trade, we’d love to help. Here’s some important information to keep in mind before reaching out:

A Few Things to Note:

  1. We’re a Business:
    While we’d love to pay top dollar for every train, we do need to ensure we can resell collections at a profit to keep our shop thriving. This means we typically pay less than the current market value. If you’ve done your own research (like checking eBay prices), please keep in mind that our offers will be lower than what you see online.

  2. Our Focus is HO & N Scale:
    These are the scales we specialize in, though we’re happy to consider O, G, and other scales. Just know that our offers may be higher for HO and N compared to other scales.

  3. Large Layouts:
    If you have a large train layout, we’re primarily interested in what’s on the layout—like locomotives, freight cars, buildings, and possibly track. We don’t typically handle the framing or benchwork.

  4. Timing Matters:
    We often have a waitlist for purchases and usually work on a first-come, first-served basis. While we’d love to help right away, it might take some time for us to schedule a visit or purchase.

  5. Local Preferred:
    We prefer purchases within a 1-hour driving radius of our Central PA location. If you’re farther away, you’re welcome to bring your collection to our shop.

  6. Out of State:
    We occasionally purchase collections from out-of-state sellers, but this is usually limited to our existing customers, friends, or family. If shipping is involved, the process becomes more complex, so we may not be able to accommodate all requests.

  7. Payment Methods:
    For payment, we primarily use checks. We may occasionally use cash, but due to our banking setup, it’s not always an option. We do not use CashApp, PayPal, or similar services.
